ANNOUNCER

Announces all heats and coordinates announcements for concessions, special items, etc., during the meet.

CLERK OF COURSE/BULLPEN

Calls event numbers, assists swimmers in lining up for their events and helps the younger swimmers to the pool.

CONCESSIONS

Workers assist in the setup or take down of the concessions area, plus sell food items during the meet.

COMPUTER INPUT

Assists head scorer with computer entry of race results into scoring system. No computer expertise is required.

REFEREE*

Announces each heat, calls swimmers to starting block, judges fairness of each start, acts as turn judge on longer races.

RIBBONS

Workers place stickers on the award ribbons and sort ribbons for distribution to swimmers

RUNNERS

Collect the time sheets from the timers and the disqualification cards from the officials and take them to the scoring table.

SCORERS

Receive swimmers' time sheets and disqualification cards from the runners. Order and review sheets and take them to computer entry. No computer expertise is required.

SET UP

Set up lane lines, starting blocks, tables, chairs, PA system, etc., beginning 1 1/2 hours before the meet.

STARTER*

Announces and starts each heat of the meet. Judges fairness of each start, and also acts as a turn judge on longer races.

STROKE JUDGE*

Judges the legality of swimmers' strokes, prepares disqualification cards as necessary.

TIMERS

Using a stopwatch, time and record swimmers' times for each event.

TURN JUDGE*

Verifies that each swimmer properly and legally touches the end of the pool, prepares disqualification cards as necessary.

*Training required by the Naperville Park District. No fees, several training dates to choose from.
