Hi
All!!
Mr.
Marion Baran was able to obtain the information below:
>
>
The Hobson West Ponds total acreage is 8.9 acres.
> Of
the 8.9 acres,
>
1.9 acres is the north retention pond (water)
>
2.1 acres is the south retention pond.(water)
>
4.9 acres is land.
>
Please
note that these figures include a small "sliver" of land along
the
east
edge of the subject property.
If the
subject property is combined with the existing pond parks the
total
would
be a 15 acre contiguous Park which could be utilized for any
number
of
programs.
Mr.
Marion Baran was also able to obtain the information below:
>
>
Some of the trees located at 1000 Plainfield/Naperville Road are:
> Siberian Elm (most numerous)
> Pin Oak
> Variety of maples
> Box alder
> Blue Spruce
>
>
Many of these trees can attain a height of 60 to 80 feet.

One of
the positive features claimed to be in favor of the proposed
townhouse
development is that the roof ridge was much lower at 30 feet
versus
40 feet for a single family structure.
The word picture
implication
is that the trees not cut down would still be above the
townhouses
roof ridge line; but not above the single family roof ridge
lines.
The
heights attained by the trees which have already reached, or are
nearing,
full maturity at 60-80 feet are significantly higher than the
ridge
line of
single family roof ridge lines.
Thus
townhouses will not be more aesthetically pleasing.
